PRESS RELEASE

As soon as mobility is possible after the emergency caused by Hurricane ETA, World Vision Honduras allocated $100,000 for the purchase of food and basic supplies, armed with food rations for distribution in several communities in the departments of Yoro, Copan, El Paraíso, Intibucá and Francisco Morazán. A total of 10,965 people will be assisted.

The delivery of differentiated assistance consists of a basic bag with food and toiletries such as toilet paper, bath soap, toothpaste, towels, blankets, repellent mats, water containers; in addition to special kits for the care of children, the elderly and the disabled.

As a humanitarian agency in emergency situations, World Vision frames its support to the most vulnerable families, strengthening the health system with medical supplies, while preparing the socioeconomic impact assessment that will guide the measures in the recovery phase, always focusing on the most affected sectors, especially their impact on children.

Faced with a possible severe impact of Hurricane ETA, our facilitators, supported by hundreds of volunteers, are ready to provide assistance in logistics and distribution, and psychosocial care to help alleviate a potential situation.

World Vision Honduras seeks to guarantee a comprehensive, equitable and inclusive response that allows us to focus on the protection of children and their families.
