Our Cause
We are actively committed to promoting universal and sustainable access to safe drinking water, facilitating basic sanitation and promoting good hygiene practices, especially in the most vulnerable families in Honduras, with a focus on children.
Mission of the WASH project
Significantly expand access to sustainable and clean water sources in homes, schools and health centers, seeking to improve the quality of life of families in all locations where World Vision works in Honduras, with the goal of reaching 650,000 people with water, hygiene and sanitation in the next 5 years. This means improving access to high quality sanitation facilities, promoting hygiene education and the adoption of behavioral change practices and care for water sources. In addition, we contribute to capacity building of community leadership and local authorities so that they can facilitate long-term sustainable interventions and services.

This comprehensive approach is achieved in alliance with key partners: local governments, commonwealths, government institutions, Movimiento para todos por siempre, Fundación Rotaria, Living Water International, Water for people, Water Mision International, WEFTA, Franciscan Sisters and donors from World Vision USA. We currently operate in the departments of El Paraíso, Francisco Morazán, Choluteca, Intibucá, La Paz, Lempira, Ocotepeque, Copán, Santa Bárbara, Yoro and Atlántida.
