Our History | World Vision Honduras
Transforming the lives of vulnerable children
For 50 years, World Vision Honduras has been committed to the protection and care of children and those who need it most.
From our arrival in 1974 as a humanitarian response to the disasters caused by Hurricane FIFÍ to the COVID-19 crisis. As World Vision Honduras, with God's help we have been in the most difficult places where others have not been able to reach, therefore, our mission continues.

Our Values
-
We are Christians:
-
We acknowledge one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ, the love, mercy and grace of God is made known to us and to all people. In the overflowing abundance of God's love, we find our call to ministry.
-
We seek to follow him:
-
In his identification with the poor, the afflicted, the oppressed, the marginalized and in his specialty, concern for children; in his respect for the God-given dignity of women on an equal footing with men.
-
We value people:
-
We consider all people as created and loved by God. We give priority to people over money, structures, systems, and other institutional machinery.

-
the poor, the donors, our staff and their families, the boards of directors.
-
We are stewards:
-
The resources at our disposal are not our own, they are a sacred trust from God through donors on behalf of the poor and we are faithful to the purpose for which those resources are given to us and manage them in such a way that they bring maximum benefit to the poor. We hold ourselves to a high standard of professional competence and accept the need for accountability, sharing our experience and expertise with others when it can help them.
-
We are partners:
-
We are members of an international World Vision association that transcends legal, structural and cultural boundaries. We are partners with the poor and with donors in a shared ministry. We affirm and promote unity in the Body of Christ, seek relationships with all churches, and desire mutual participation in ministry.
-
We are responsive:
-
We are sensitive to life-threatening emergencies when our intervention is necessary and appropriate, willing to take intelligent risks and act quickly. We are responsive in a different sense when economic and social deprivation, deeply entrenched and often complex, we are receptive to new and unusual opportunities, encouraging innovation, creativity and flexibility.
